This item is not a model of an aircraft but a tiny detail accessory for a plastic kit of the Bronco in 1:48 scale. The steps and footholds on the fuselage belong among the parts that an injection mold can manage only in a limited thickness - they therefore tend to be needlessly massive. The Quickboost resin casting replaces them with thinner parts with a more faithful shape, which is easy to tell on a model where the fuselage is looked at close up.
The North American Rockwell OV-10 Bronco was a twin-engine turboprop aircraft with a pair of tail booms, a high-set wing and a glazed cockpit for a crew of two. It was designed for observation, directing fire support and light combat tasks, with an emphasis on operation from short and unpaved strips. The OV-10A version was the basic form for American users and the OV-10D a later variant with modified equipment for operating in reduced visibility. The glazing and the access elements on the fuselage belong among the typical identifying marks of the aircraft.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent because of the residue of mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off with a sharp scalpel or a fine saw; thin parts break easily, so work over a tray and with tweezers. Cut the original plastic steps off the model and sand the area carefully. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue, that is super glue, applied in a small drop with the tip of a toothpick. The steps belong on the model only after the base coat has been sprayed, because otherwise they are easily knocked off during masking. At the end all they need is painting over with a brush and emphasizing with a dark wash.
The set is supplied unpainted. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
