Quinta Studio 1:48 P-38H Lightning — a 3D-printed colored interior on decal paper completes the pilot's area of a plastic model with relief, already painted instruments and panels. It is not a kit of the aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set belongs to the range in which Quinta Studio combines three-dimensional printing with decal paper. The details are printed with a relief and painted at the factory, so they go into the cockpit of a Lightning model in 1:48 scale finished — without painting dials and without assembling photo-etched pieces.
The pilot's area of the Lightning is set in a short central nacelle and is clearly visible from above and from the side on a finished model. That is exactly why it pays not to rely only on the molded plastic panel: colored relief panels, side walls and controls move the impression of the cockpit on more than any other modification that can be done in a few tens of minutes.
The order of work is fundamental: finish the interior before you close the nacelle up and fit the canopy. Coat the surface with a dark color and let it cure; a decal adheres better to a smooth surface. Cut the pieces out of the sheet with a small border, soak them briefly and move them with a damp brush, never dry with tweezers. A decal softener and a setting solution do not belong here, as they would attack the printed resin. Once the interior has dried, even it out with a matte varnish so that the gloss from the decal does not shout, and only then go on assembling.
This is an accessory for a cockpit, not a kit of the aircraft. The base model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
