Exhausts for the P-40B/C Warhawk in 1:48 scale are a resin detail set from the Quickboost (Aires) brand for more faithful exhaust stacks on the fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
A detailed resin set of exhaust stacks that replace the plastic parts of the base kit with castings that have hollow, recessed ends. It is NOT an aircraft model but an accessory to the base kit of the American Curtiss P-40 Warhawk fighter in the B and C versions.
The Curtiss P-40 Warhawk was powered by the Allison V12 engine, whose exhaust stacks ran along the sides of the nose. The early P-40B and P-40C versions served at the start of the Second World War, among others with the Flying Tigers. Hollow exhausts are among the details that are well in view on a model.
Cut the parts off the casting blocks, wash them free of mold release agent and glue them with cyanoacrylate. Spray the exhausts in burnt-metal shades and bring them out with pigments for an exhaust-stain effect.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and, as an aftermarket set, it calls for a more experienced hand. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
