A package of die-cut masks for a model of the Curtiss P-40E in 1:48 scale. The glazing from both sides, a set of masks for the large insignia and a sheet of printed extras.
Responsibility details are not available.
The E version received six 12.7 mm machine guns in the wing and a rack under the fuselage, which turned a patrol fighter into a usable bomb carrier. The Allison engine without a second supercharger stage took away its performance at altitude, but lower down it did well and it stood up to handling that would have broken another aircraft's neck. British and Australian squadrons called it the Kittyhawk Mk IA and flew it over North Africa, New Guinea and over the Aleutians.
A torn or wrinkled decal is lost, a replacement is hard to come by and the wet remains are removed from the paint at the risk of damaging the base as well. With spraying the situation is different: an unsuccessful marking is oversprayed with the base color and sprayed again. There is material for that, because there is always enough paint left in the bottle.
Before you lay the insignia mask down, let the base color really cure, ideally overnight. On fresh paint the adhesive grips too firmly and takes the layer with it when lifted. The cut-outs correspond to the cockpit of the Hasegawa kit. The unused strips will serve for masking the machine gun ports in the leading edge and the main landing gear wheels.
