P-40M/N Warhawk fishtail exhausts in 1:48 scale are resin replacement exhausts from Quickboost for a model of this American fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin accessory from Quickboost brings precisely cast fishtail exhaust stacks for a model of the American Curtiss P-40 Warhawk fighter in the M and N versions in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit, but a replacement part that swaps the simplified exhausts from the box for more faithful castings with a fine surface and a flared outlet shaped like a fish tail.
The P-40M and P-40N were among the late production versions of the famous Warhawk, powered by a V12 Allison engine. Along the sides of the engine they carried rows of exhaust stacks; the fishtail form had a flared outlet that is one of the striking details right in the line of sight of the nose. A good casting with a realistic shape lifts the look of a finished model more than the smooth plastic parts from the box.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent to remove mold release residue. Cut the casting blocks off carefully with a saw or break them off and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Glue the parts with cyanoacrylate glue. The exhaust outlets can be drilled out gently and brought out with dark metal and rusty shades.
The accessory is supplied as a resin replacement part, unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
