Eduard 1:48 P-40N TFace — masks for the glazing

A mask set from Eduard intended for a model of the American fighter Curtiss P-40N Warhawk in 1:48 scale. It is not a model and not a kit — it is an accessory. The TFace designation means that the set contains masks for both sides of the glazing: the outside and the inside. That lets you spray the canopy frames from outside and from inside, a detail that is impossible to miss when you look into the cockpit of a finished model.

Use

• The masks are precisely shaped (die-cut) for the particular glazing of the given model — you do not have to cut anything out or guess the shapes of the frames.
• Stick them onto the inside of the canopy with tweezers, brush or spray the frame color on (usually the interior shade of the cockpit) and let it dry.
• Then mask the outside and spray the upper camouflage — the frames come out sharp and clean on both sides.
• Remove the masks carefully with tweezers or a pointed toothpick once the paint has dried, so the clear parts are not scratched.
• Any adhesive residue can be removed gently from the glazing with lukewarm water; do not use thinners on clear parts.

For anyone who builds the P-40N in 1:48 scale and wants the cockpit finished in detail. Masking the frames is one of the longest and most delicate steps of a build — with ready-made masks it is done in a few minutes and the result is clean even for less experienced modelers. The set is also a safeguard against ruining clear parts by masking them by hand.

The set contains masks only. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package. Always ventilate well when spraying paint and use respiratory protection.
