The shape matches a particular kit: this set is made for the P-47 Thunderbolt from MiniArt in 1:48 scale. Watch out for a mix-up — plugs for the P-47 from another manufacturer and in another scale also exist; this one is exclusively for the MiniArt kit in 1:48. The package holds neither a model nor plastic parts.
The wheel bays of the Thunderbolt are spacious and full of detail and inside they have a different shade than the outer skin. Overspray that gets into them practically cannot be repaired because of the poor access — and lining the whole opening with tape is slow and just as unreliable. The plug goes in before spraying and is pulled out once the paint is dry. One step instead of tens of minutes of masking.
The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt was an American heavy fighter with a radial engine, nicknamed Jug for its bulky shapes. It was famous for its toughness — it could come back even with heavy damage — and for the strong armament of eight wing guns.
