An accessory set for the cockpit of a plastic model of the P-47D fighter in the razorback form. The LööK line is built on a simple idea: to give the modeler a finished instrument panel that looks better than a plastic part with a decal, and with it the harness belts, which are the most visible thing in an open cockpit. It is not a model of the aircraft and not a complete interior but a targeted improvement to the two most closely watched details.
The basis is a resin instrument panel with a color print, on which the instruments and the lettering are printed directly on the part, so the laborious painting of dials and the applying of decals fall away. The second part consists of pre-printed harness belts of steel sheet. Compared with softer materials, steel holds the shape of a bend better, so once folded over the edge of the seat the belt stays naturally draped and does not spring back flat.
The Republic P-47D Thunderbolt was one of the heaviest single-engine fighters of the Second World War. The version known as the razorback has the original fuselage spine running smoothly into the fin and a cockpit with a framed canopy; only the later form received a cut-down spine and a bubble canopy. A robust structure and a radial engine with a turbocharger made the type well suited both to attacks on ground targets and to escort work at high altitude.
This is an accessory for a kit, not a standalone model. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
