This resin cockpit set brings a finely rendered cockpit for a model of the Republic P-47N Thunderbolt fighter in 1:48 scale. It contains a faithfully cast cockpit tub, an instrument panel, a seat and the controls, which replace the simplified parts of the kit. It is not a stand-alone aircraft model but a detail accessory for one.
The Republic P-47N Thunderbolt was the long-range version of the massive American fighter, intended for use over the vast expanses of the Pacific. It had enlarged wings with a greater fuel load and a longer range, while keeping the ruggedness and the heavy armament of the Thunderbolt family.
Wash the parts to remove mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). It is best to prime the cockpit, then paint it with shading and a dry brush and bring the instrument panel to life by picking out the details. Protect your airways when sanding resin.
This is a resin accessory for a kit, supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
