A color photo-etched set from Eduard in 1:48 scale, focused on the placards and plates for the cockpit of the P-51 Mustang fighter. It is neither an airplane model nor a complete interior set but a specialized accessory: small color-printed labels, warning and information placards and plates that were found on the walls, panels and frames in the cockpit of the real aircraft. The set gives the interior a realistic layer of detail that molded plastic cannot capture.
Placards are separate color labels that are applied to the designated spots in the cockpit so that it looks lived-in and faithful. They suit as a complement to the basic cockpit detail or to a more elaborate interior; they will be used above all by modelers who are after maximum fidelity in the view into the cockpit.
Peel off the individual placards with tweezers and place them on clean, degreased surfaces; small items can be secured with a drop of cyanoacrylate glue or varnish. Work with good lighting and a magnifier, because the parts are very small. Fit the placards into the interior before closing the fuselage, while the spots are still accessible.
This is a photo-etched set of placards, not an airplane model. The base kit, the paints and the glue are not included in the package.
