Mask for the American national insignia of the P-51B/C in 1:48 scale (Eduard)

A set of pre-cut self-adhesive masks intended for spraying the American national insignia (a star in a circle with bars) onto a model of the P-51B/C Mustang fighter. Compared with decals, sprayed insignia have a perfectly matte surface, hold on an uneven surface and carry no risk of silvering or peeling. The set makes it possible to create crisp multicolor insignia in the right positions.

The real subject

The P-51B/C Mustang was the early version of the famous American long-range fighter with a Merlin engine, key to escorting bombers over Europe. It carried the American national insignia in the two-color form with white bars and a blue surround.

Use

• Stick the base mask down and spray the light base shade of the insignia.
• Add the covering elements and spray the darker color for the surround and the field.
• Work layer by layer, so that the individual colors of the insignia line up.
• Peel the mask off before the paint has fully hardened.
