A double-sided set of masks for painting a Phantom model in the early-series F-4E and F-4EJ Kai versions in 1:48 scale, cut for the Zoukei-Mura kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F-4E is the land-based version of the Phantom II, which you will tell from the other variants by its lengthened nose with gun armament. The early series differed from the later aircraft in the treatment of the wing, which is why modeling keeps them separate. The F-4EJ Kai designation belongs to the Japanese Phantoms, which went through a modernization of their equipment and served long after the type had finished elsewhere. Both versions share the long cockpit for a crew of two, the raised wingtips and the anhedral horizontal stabilizers.
The set is listed as double-sided: the masks are cut for the outer as well as the inner side of the parts. The cockpit framing is as a rule in a different shade on the inside than on the outside and both are visible through the clear part, so with a double-sided set tracing the inner edge with a brush falls away. The masks are cut for the parts of the Zoukei-Mura kit in 1:48 scale.
Apply the mask before spraying, to a clean and degreased part. Press the edge down along its whole length with a blunt point so that the paint does not run under it, and spray several thin coats instead of one heavy one. Remove the mask as soon as the paint is dry to the touch, and pull it back over itself at an angle. Do not sand the clear part and wipe the fingerprints off it before you lay the mask on.
For builders of Phantoms in 1:48 scale who want the cockpit framing sprayed sharply from both sides. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
