Eduard 1:48 Panavia Tornado IDS TFace is a masking set for the outside and the inside of the clear parts of a model of the two-seat swing-wing combat aircraft.

A self-adhesive masking set for a model in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Eduard. The TFace designation means that the set holds masks for both sides of the clear part. The canopy frames can therefore be sprayed from the inside in the cockpit interior shade and only then from the outside in the top color of the airframe. On a tandem cockpit with long glazing that difference shows a great deal on the finished model. It is not a kit nor decals, but an accessory for the build.
The Panavia Tornado IDS is a twin-engine, two-seat combat aircraft with a variable-sweep wing, developed in international cooperation and meant for strikes on ground targets from low level. The crew is a pilot and a navigator seated one behind the other, so the cockpit is long and covered by multi-part glazing with a fixed windshield and hinged sections. There are a fair number of frames and they run in several directions, which makes hand masking one of the most time-consuming parts of the build.
Start with the inner side; once the canopy is fitted to the fuselage you can no longer reach it. Wash and degrease the clear part. Release the mask from the sheet with the tip of a scalpel, seat it with tweezers exactly along the frame and press it down with a soft tool all around the edge, especially in the corners. Trim the overhang with a fresh blade in a light pass along the outline. Spray a thin sealing coat of the base color and only then the shade itself, always in several light passes. Peel the masks off once the paint has set, drawing them slowly back over themselves.
This is an accessory for a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
