The real subject

The McDonnell Douglas F-15C Eagle is an American single-seat twin-engine fighter meant to win air superiority. It is recognized by the large wing, the pair of vertical tails and the angular air intakes, which pivot according to the flight regime. The letter C in the designation belongs to the single-seat form; the two-seat combat trainer version bears the letter D. It served in the armament of a number of countries for several decades.

What the set offers

On a model in 1:72 scale, decals are often the only way to get onto the surface the small lettering, markings and colored areas that could be painted neither by spraying nor by hand. The sheet is prepared for a model of the F-15C in this scale. What exactly it carries and which parts the individual elements belong to is shown in the manufacturer's instructions; follow them when placing the elements too.

How decals are worked with

First level the surface under the element and rid it of dust and grease, so that the part seats over its whole area. The sheet is not immersed in water: with a damp sponge and a drop of dish soap, wet only the backing paper under the part, lift the element off with tweezers and transfer it to its place. It is seated with PVA glue (white glue); the maker does not recommend super glue, and decal softener does not belong on these elements, because it attacks the printed layer. Leave the finished area to dry undisturbed and only then coat it over with clear if need be.
