The set holds two unpainted figures in 1:35 scale cast in resin. It is the first volume of the range of helicopter crews from Bravo 6, issued under the subject Saddlin Up, that is the crew boarding the machine before takeoff. It is not a kit of a helicopter but an accessory to a model or for a diorama - the figures are set by the machine on the hardstand, by the door opening or into an airfield scene.
Crew figures have flight kit, which differs markedly from infantry kit: a helmet with a flip-down visor, a flight suit of fire-resistant fabric, gloves and a personal weapon in a holster. The poses are built as quiet action before takeoff, so the scene needs no dramatic event and looks natural even with a model displayed on its own. The detail of the folds of the flight suit and of the straps is cast directly in the parts.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with detergent, cut the casting blocks off, sand the surfaces and protect your airways while sanding resin. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Apply a primer before painting. The fire-resistant flight suit has a subdued matte shade - leave it fairly clean, as flight personnel do not tend to be as dusty as infantry. Paint the helmet with a smooth surface and the visor with a gloss varnish and fine toning. Always try the figure by the model before you glue it on for good, so that the height of the figure matches the steps and the door opening.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
