This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:48 scale captures the German Panther medium tank in the Ausf.D version of the Second World War. The model is part of the proven Tamiya range of miniatures, popular for its good buildability and accuracy.
The Panther Ausf.D was the first production version of the Panther tank, used from 1943. It combined a heavy sloped front armor plate, a long high-velocity 75 mm gun and running gear with large interleaved road wheels. Thanks to its balanced mix of armor, firepower and mobility it became one of the most important tanks of its era. The Ausf.D version differed from the later ones among other things in the design of the commander's cupola and the side vision ports.
Assemble and paint the running gear and any interior before closing the hull up. For a late-war look a three-color camouflage and the Zimmerit anti-magnetic coating suit well. The look benefits from a wash into the recesses and weathering with mud and dust pigments on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
