The faithfully cast intakes have open mouths and clean edges, which are hard to produce in the plastic from the box. The part is meant for advanced modelers with resin experience.
The air intakes on the engine nacelles are a detail that simplified plastic parts often close off or flatten. The resin casting offers open mouths and fine edges, so the nacelles read faithfully and look properly engineered. Once glued on and painted, they add authenticity to a finished model.
