A set of photo-etched parts for a model of the British Phantom FGR Mk.2 in 1:48 scale. The metal parts sharpen up detail that a plastic kit can manage only as shallow relief.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Phantom FGR Mk.2 is the British version of the two-seat Phantom, carried by the maker under the designation F-4M. The abbreviation FGR covers the three roles it was brought into service for with the Royal Air Force: fighter, ground attack and reconnaissance. British machines differed from the American ones in a number of details, so separate accessories are made for them.
It is a set of metal parts for a model in 1:48 scale. Photo-etch is thin sheet with shapes etched into it, which replaces plastic parts where those would have to be unrealistically thick, and adds engraving and small items that cannot be molded into a tool. The exact extent of the set is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not with cutters, which bend the sheet. Sand the remains of the tab away with fine abrasive paper. Make the bends in a bending tool or over a sharp edge, and glue drop by drop with super glue. Degrease the metal before painting and apply a primer, so that the paint does not peel.
The set is for modelers who are building the Phantom in its British form in 1:48 scale and want detail at the level of metal. The package contains photo-etched parts only; the kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
