A small accessory set for modelers building the German Pz.Kpfw IV medium tank in 1:48 scale. It is not a model of the vehicle but a separately made air filter that replaces the simplified part from the Tamiya kit. In a small scale every sharply rendered item counts double, because the model has less area on which to catch the eye.
The air filter is one of those items on a vehicle that belong to the powerplant and in a kit tend to be simplified down to a shape with no legible edges or mountings. A replacement part with the details rendered is useful above all when you are building a model with the engine area open or with the equipment spread over the hull, because then this small thing is clearly visible. The set also makes sense as an addition to an otherwise basic build where you want to lift the impression without much work.
Wash the part in lukewarm soapy water before building and let it dry, so that the primer holds. Cut the casting remains off with a saw and level the surface with abrasive paper; protect your airways when sanding. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) applied on the tip of a pin, so that the details do not get flooded. Try the seating dry first. When painting the part, a dark lift in the gaps and a gentle accentuation of the edges with a dry brush will help the shape stand out even in a small scale.
This is an accessory part, not a model of the vehicle. It is supplied unpainted; the base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
