Omask 1:48 Re 2005 Sagittario is a set of die-cut masking templates for the cockpit glazing of a model of the Italian Reggiane Re.2005 fighter in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set is not a kit but an accessory for a model. It contains self-adhesive masks cut to the shape of the frames of the cockpit canopy of the Reggiane Re.2005 Sagittario in 1:48 scale. They go onto the clear part before painting, so that after spraying and lifting they leave the frames crisply defined and the glass clean. That saves the most tedious part of building an aircraft model: cutting and applying thin strips of tape to a curved canopy by hand.
The Reggiane Re.2005 Sagittario was an Italian single-seat fighter from the end of the Second World War. It belonged to the group of the so-called Series 5 Italian fighters powered by a V12 engine, and it had a slender fuselage, an elliptical wing and good flying qualities. Only a small number were built, which makes it a rewarding and not entirely common type among modelers. The cockpit is fairly complex and the glazing has several frames, which turns the masking into a job of many minutes.
First wash the clear part in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent and let it dry. Transfer the mask with tweezers, lay it on dry and only then press it down with a toothpick all around, above all where the canopy curves. Spray the paint in thin coats; one heavy coat seeps under the edge of a mask far more easily than three light ones. Once dry, peel the mask off at a shallow angle rather than straight up from the surface.
This is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
