A masking set in kabuki paper in 1:48 scale for the Republic F-84F Thunderstreak, in the Basic version.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Republic F-84F Thunderstreak is a jet fighter-bomber of the 1950s. It came about by reworking the older straight-wing F-84: it was given a swept wing, swept tail surfaces and a more powerful engine, so it differs from its predecessor in silhouette at first glance. It served with the US Air Force and with a number of European air forces of the North Atlantic alliance, and its reconnaissance counterpart was built with the air intakes moved to the wing roots.
The masks are cut from kabuki paper. That follows curves well, holds even on rounded surfaces and leaves no adhesive on the surface once taken off. The version designated Basic is the smallest of the three levels issued for this type by the manufacturer; the other two are Advanced and Expert.
Stick the masks onto a clean, dry and degreased surface, always before spraying. Press the edges down with a blunt point, so that paint does not run under them. Spray several thin layers instead of one heavy one, otherwise a ridge forms at the edge of a mask, which stays visible even after it is taken off. Take a mask off soon after the paint has flashed off, while the layer is still flexible, and lift it with the tip of a sharp blade.
The kit, the paints and the glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
