The second part of a themed set of decals in 1:48 scale from the British manufacturer Xtradecal. It follows on from the first part and covers a further stretch of the hundred-year service of British No. 4 Squadron. The two sheets complement one another, so they can be used separately or together, depending on how many models the modeler wants to build. The product is an accessory, not a kit.
A unit with a history this long went through several entirely different generations of aviation equipment during its existence, from simple biplanes to modern jets. The markings changed along with the equipment and with the regulations of the day, so the series of sheets covers machines of markedly different appearance.
A good many markings of this kind are placed on the fuselage, that is on a markedly curved surface. Never shift a decal on a round fuselage dry; slide a drop of water with a little fixer solution under the film so that it floats, and only then guide it into place. Blot the surplus away with a cotton swab from the center toward the edges, so that the film tightens evenly and no fan-shaped creases form. If the decal reaches over an edge or a panel, let it rest for an hour once settled and only then shape it with a softener.
The package contains decals only. The model, paints and varnishes are not part of it.
