About product

Eduard SB2C-4 Helldiver 1:48 (Zoom photo-etched set)

This is a pre-painted, self-adhesive photo-etched set from the Zoom line by the Czech maker Eduard. It is not an airplane model but an accessory intended to improve the cockpit of a plastic kit of the SB2C-4 Helldiver carrier-based bomber in 1:48 scale. The parts are printed photo-realistically, so it is enough to peel them off and stick them on, with no painting needed.

The real subject

The Curtiss SB2C Helldiver was an American carrier-based dive bomber deployed during the Second World War above all in the Pacific. The SB2C-4 version was one of the later and most widely used variants, fitted with dive brakes and with racks for bombs or rockets. The machine served from the decks of US Navy aircraft carriers.

Usage tips

The self-adhesive form makes it easy to stick the instrument panels, the side panels and the belts straight onto the parts of the kit. Small metal items can be finished off with super glue. The set combines beautifully with a basic interior build and lifts the realism of the cockpit area.

Who the set is for

  • Modelers building the SB2C-4 in 1:48 scale
  • Anyone interested in quick, convincing cockpit detail
  • Beginners and advanced builders alike, thanks to the self-adhesive form
  • Collectors of US Navy aircraft of the Second World War period

This is an accessory and not a model. The plastic kit, the glue and the paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
