This resin accessory from Quickboost brings exactly cast exhaust nozzles for a model of the British Hawker Sea Hawk carrier jet fighter in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit but a replacement part that will replace the simplified nozzles from the box with more accurate castings with a fine surface and a correctly shaped mouth.

What the part is for

The Hawker Sea Hawk was a British carrier jet fighter of the Royal Navy, powered by a single Rolls-Royce Nene turbojet with the gas flow split into a pair of side nozzles at the wing roots. Those nozzles are a prominent detail on a model; an accurate casting with the correct mouth shape lifts the look of the rear end more than the smooth plastic parts from the box.

Usage tips

First wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent because of mold release residue. Cut off the casting blocks carefully with a saw and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Bond the parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Check the fit before gluing; bring out the inside of the nozzles with dark, burnt metallic shades.
