This resin set of the Quickboost brand from the Czech manufacturer Aires brings faithfully cast crew seats with seat belts for a model of the American Sikorsky SH-3 Sea King helicopter in 1:48 scale. It is not a helicopter model but a detail accessory for more experienced modelers that replaces the flat plastic seats with a casting with a suggested texture and belts rendered in relief. With the door open, the interior then reads faithfully.
The Sikorsky SH-3 Sea King was an American twin-engine helicopter with turboshaft engines, deployed with the navy above all in the anti-submarine and rescue roles. Thanks to its boat hull it could even land on water, and it served in many variants around the world. It is a helicopter, so the crew seats are not ejection seats.
First wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water so that any mold release residue is removed. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw and sand the cut surfaces with respiratory protection. Bond the parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue), not with plastic cement. The cast belts come alive once they are painted and lightly picked out with a wash.
The set is supplied as a resin part, unassembled and unpainted. It is not a helicopter model but an accessory for a plastic kit. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
