A masking set in 1:48 scale for painting a model of the SIAI SF-260 aircraft, prepared for the kit from KP Models.
Responsibility details are not available.
The SIAI SF-260 is an Italian single-engine low-wing monoplane that made its name as a trainer and sporting aircraft, and a number of air forces use it in armed versions. For a modeler it is typified by a slender fuselage, smooth surfaces and a generously glazed cockpit, where the cleanliness of the transition between the clear parts and the paint decides the result.
The set brings masking pieces for painting a model in 1:48 scale and is intended for the SIAI SF-260 kit from KP Models. With another kit count on the shapes and dimensions of the parts differing, so the masks need not fit. The extent of the set is described in the manufacturer's instructions.
The masks go on the model before spraying. First wash and degrease the surface so that the piece holds and the paint does not creep under it. Lay the mask on, press it down mainly around the edge and run a toothpick or a blunt stick along the edge. Apply the paint in thin coats; a heavy layer creates a step at the edge of the mask.
For modelers who want sharp edges of the color areas and clean glazing without lengthy taping. It will speed the work up wherever cutting the shapes by hand would be lengthy.
The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
