Responsibility details are not available.
This die-cut self-adhesive Eduard masking set in 1:48 scale serves to spray spiral patterns onto propeller spinners. It is not a kit or a model in its own right but a set of precisely shaped masks in thin yellow masking tape (kabuki). The set offers spirals in several forms, so you can choose the pattern that matches a particular machine, most often German aircraft of the Second World War.
A spiral painted on the propeller spinner was a recognition and psychological marking on many aircraft of the Second World War. As the propeller turned it created a striking optical effect. Painting a sharp, symmetrical spiral accurately with a brush is demanding, which is why a mask that covers the pattern exactly is useful for a clean, repeatable result.
First spray the spinner with the base color of the spiral and let it dry. Lift the mask off the backing and wind it carefully onto the spinner so that it adheres without creases. Then spray over it with the second color. Because of the rounded shape of the spinner, lay the paint on in thin layers so that it does not creep under the edge of the mask. Once dry, peel the mask off carefully at an acute angle.
The package contains masks only. The model, paints, glue and decals are not included, unless stated otherwise.
