This set is a resin accessory from Quickboost (Aires) in 1:48 scale, not a standalone airplane model. It replaces the control stick in the cockpit of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk. IX plastic kit with an accurate resin casting that shows the fine detail of the grip and the trigger. The tiny part visibly brings the cockpit to life and is meant for experienced modelers.
The Supermarine Spitfire was a British single-seat fighter of the Second World War with a distinctive elliptical wing and a liquid-cooled V12 engine. The Mk. IX version was one of the most successful and most widespread, used in the later part of the war for defense and for escort duties. The control stick of the Spitfire had a characteristic curved head with the gun controls on it.
This is a tiny resin casting for advanced builders. First wash the part to remove mold release residue, carefully cut off the casting block (gate) and clean up the cut surface – always with respiratory protection. Because it is so small, work with a sharp blade and bond it with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Paint and highlight the stick on its own and fit it into the cockpit last.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as a resin set. The aircraft kit, glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package.
