This product is not a kit but an aftermarket detail set. It consists of 3D-printed, fully colored interior elements carried on thin decal paper. They let you complete the cockpit of a model of the British Spitfire Mk.I fighter in 1:48 scale with a convincing instrument panel, side consoles and other cockpit details, without having to paint and shade the surfaces at length.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.I was the first production version of the legendary British fighter, with a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine and eight machine guns. It entered service at the end of the 1930s and became famous in the Battle of Britain, where alongside the Hurricane it faced the raids of the Luftwaffe. Its characteristic elliptical wing and slender fuselage made it one of the icons of aviation history.
The individual elements are cut out of the sheet, soaked for about fifteen seconds in lukewarm water and slid off the carrier paper straight onto the cockpit parts. They have no adhesive layer of their own: they hold on a surface coated beforehand with a gloss (Future, Klear, Tamiya X-22); on textured places a drop of super glue helps. Do not use a decal softener or a setting solution, as their chemistry attacks the printed resin.
This is an accessory for a model, not a standalone kit. The base model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
