Eduard 1:48 Spitfire Mk.I TFace is a double-sided masking set that offers templates for the outer and the inner side of the glazing, so the cockpit frames can be painted on both sides.

This is not an aircraft kit but a masking set in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. The TFace designation means that the fret holds two sets of templates: one for the outer side of the glazing and a second, reshaped one for the inner side. As a result the cockpit frames can be painted in the camouflage shade from the outside and in the interior shade from within.
The difference shows above all on a model with the canopy open or with a light camouflage. When a frame is painted only from the outside, bare clear plastic shows through from within and the cockpit looks crude. Double-sided masks do away with that shortcoming and call for no special technique, only one extra painting step. The masks are pre-cut, hold with a gentle adhesive and leave no residue when lifted.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.I was a British fighter introduced in 1938 and the best-known of the Battle of Britain. Its cockpit is formed by a fairly simple canopy with an armored windscreen and side frames. It is a machine often built with the canopy slid back, when the inside of the frame is clearly visible.
Apply the inner masks first, spray the interior shade and let it dry. Only then apply the outer set and spray the camouflage. Degrease the glazing in advance, press the masks down from the center toward the edges and work them into the engraving of the frames with a toothpick. Before the actual shade it pays to spray a thin coat that seals the edges. Lift the masks while the paint is fresh, using the point of a scalpel so as not to scratch the clear part.
This is an accessory for building a model, not a stand-alone kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
