A set of turned metal tips for the .303 caliber Browning machine gun barrels from the Polish manufacturer MASTER, intended for a model of the British Supermarine Spitfire fighter in the early Mk.Ia, Mk.IIa and Mk.Va versions in 1:48 scale. The metal muzzles replace the plastic suggestions on the leading edge of the wing and give the armament an accurate and crisp look.
The Supermarine Spitfire is the legendary British fighter with an elliptical wing, one of the icons of the Battle of Britain. The early Mk.I, Mk.II and Mk.V versions carried eight .303 caliber Browning machine guns in the wing, whose muzzles passed through the leading edge.
Holes are drilled in the leading edge of the wing at the positions of the armament, the turned tips are glued into them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) and leveled into one plane. Metal holds paint better once a primer has been applied. The work is fine, but the result lifts the realism of the wing markedly.
Supplied as a standalone accessory. The base aircraft kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
