Eduard masks Spitfire Mk.I/V 1:48 is a die-cut self-adhesive masking set for the model of the British Spitfire Mk.I/V fighter. It gives sharp color divisions on the glazing, the wheels and the camouflage. It is not a model but a masking aid.
Responsibility details are not available.
This die-cut self-adhesive Eduard masking set in 1:48 scale is meant for the plastic model of the British Supermarine Spitfire fighter in the Mk.I and Mk.V versions. It is neither a kit nor a model of its own but a set of precisely shaped masks in thin yellow masking tape (kabuki). The masks will be appreciated by modelers who want sharp color divisions on the glazing, the wheels and the camouflage fields without lengthy cutting of tape by hand.
The Supermarine Spitfire is among the best known British fighters of the Second World War, recognizable by its elliptical wing and the Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engine. The Mk.I version was used in the Battle of Britain, while the widespread Mk.V brought a more powerful engine and heavier armament. The early versions have a many-framed canopy.
Degrease the glazing of the framed canopy and let it dry. Lift the masks off the backing and lay them on the individual frames of the windscreen and of the sliding section, pressing them into the edges and filling the small cutouts with a strip of tape. Spray the paint with an airbrush in thin coats. The wheel masks separate the tire from the hub. Once the paint has dried, peel the masks off carefully at a sharp angle.
The package contains masks only. The model, paints, glue and decals are not included, unless stated otherwise.
