This plastic kit in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Eduard captures the late form of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vb fighter. The ProfiPACK edition is the richly equipped version: besides quality plastic it contains color photo-etched parts, painting masks and decals for several marking options, so you can build the model to a high level of detail straight out of the box.
The Spitfire Mk.V was one of the most widespread versions of the legendary British fighter. The Mk.Vb carried a combined armament of cannons and machine guns and formed the backbone of the RAF fighter squadrons in the period after the Battle of Britain. Late machines were marked by small production changes and by various filters or configurations depending on where they served.
Paint and assemble the detailed cockpit with its color photo-etch before you close up the fuselage. The masks included make clean painting of the canopy frames easier. Glue the joints with thin cement for plastic, unify the surface with a base coat and apply the camouflage with an airbrush. The decals settle better on a smooth gloss coat, and the final weathering can be refined gently with washes.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
