A street lamp in 1:48 scale as an accessory for dioramas and display case scenes. It is supplied unpainted.
Responsibility details are not available.
A street lamp is one of those elements that give a scene its setting and at the same time a sense of scale. Stand it beside a piece of equipment or a figure and the viewer sees at once how large the scene is, while the vertical element breaks up the surface of a base that would otherwise look empty. In a scene it can also serve as an anchor for the composition: a lamp sets the edge of a sidewalk, the corner of a crossroads or the place where the action of the scene happens.
A tall, thin element needs firm fixing. It works well to drill a wire pin into the foot of the lamp, drill a matching hole in the base and seat the lamp into it; the glued face on the foot alone is small and the joint breaks off easily. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, prepare the surface with a base coat and only then paint. A post suits restrained wear, that is a scuffed finish at the foot, a hint of rust at the joints and fine deposits at the top. The material of the parts and the recommended glue are given by the manufacturer; adapt your procedure to their instructions.
For builders of dioramas with an urban or suburban setting and for anyone who wants a model set in a scene rather than on a bare board. It suits equipment as well as figures in 1:48 scale.
A base, a model, figures, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
