A set of fine photo-etched metal parts from the Czech manufacturer Eduard, meant for refining the plastic kit of the two-seat Su-25UB/UBK combat trainer in 1:48 scale. It is neither a model nor a kit - it is an accessory that replaces or completes plastic parts with more true-to-life metal ones. Photo-etched parts thinner than plastic give the cockpit and the exterior surfaces depth and structure that injection-molded plastic cannot manage.
The Su-25, NATO reporting name Frogfoot, is a rugged subsonic attack aircraft intended for close support of ground forces. It is marked by an armored cockpit, two engines and the ability to carry a heavy load of unguided and guided munitions. The UB/UBK version is the two-seat combat trainer variant with tandem seats, which keeps the combat capability of the single-seater and at the same time serves for training pilots.
The finest parts belong in the interior before the fuselage is closed, while small exterior additions are glued onto the finished model. Cut the parts off with a sharp knife close to the fret and form the bends over the edge of a ruler or with a bending tool. Bond them with a tiny drop of super glue (cyanoacrylate). Because of their size the set is meant for advanced modelers - tweezers and a magnifier are worth having.
This is a detail accessory, not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
