The Quickboost (Aires) set in 1:48 scale holds precisely cast pitot tubes for the Soviet, or rather Russian, Sukhoi Su-27 fighter in the Flanker B version. It is a detail accessory, not a kit of the airplane: the delicate resin parts replace the fragile plastic tubes from the boxed kit and look more faithful.
The Sukhoi Su-27, under the NATO reporting name Flanker, is a heavy twin-engine air superiority fighter. On the nose and on the leading edges it carries pitot and sensing tubes for measuring speed and other flight data. These thin items are easily damaged in plastic, and so a resin replacement is popular among detailers.
Wash the parts free of mold release residue, separate them carefully from the casting blocks and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Because the parts are delicate, work with a light touch, and protect your airways while sanding. As a rule it is enough to paint the tubes after the pattern of the subject.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as a resin detail set. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
