This set of photo-etched parts in 1:48 scale from the Eduard brand is not a stand-alone model but an accessory for raising the level of detail on the external parts of the two-seat Su-27UB trainer fighter. It adds fine metal items such as covers, grilles and protrusions that injection-molded plastic cannot capture faithfully.
The Su-27 (NATO reporting name Flanker) is a Soviet and later Russian heavy fighter with outstanding agility and long range. The Su-27UB version is the two-seat trainer variant with two cockpits in tandem, used to train pilots while keeping its combat capability.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife, make the bends on a bending tool, and glue them with super glue. The fine surface items stand out once primer has been sprayed on and a delicate wash applied.
