A photo-etched metal set in 1:48 scale for a model of the British Supermarine Spitfire Mk.XII fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Spitfire Mk.XII was the first production version of the Spitfire with a Griffon engine and differed from its predecessors at first glance in its longer and more massive nose. It was intended above all for combat at low altitudes, where it had the upper hand over the earlier forms. For a modeler that means a machine with a familiar silhouette but different proportions of the forward fuselage, so it pays to watch exactly the details around the engine and the cockpit.
Thin metal parts etched from sheet, that is, features for which injection-molded plastic is too thick in 1:48 scale: the instrument panel and the controls, seat belts with buckles, grilles, covers and small sheet-metal details. The extent of the fret and the purpose of the individual parts are given in the enclosed instructions.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard support and sort them at once, because they are small and easily mixed up. Make the folds along a sharp edge or in a bending tool. Degrease the metal before painting and give it a primer coat, or the paint will not hold on the smooth surface. Seat belts look more alive when you bend them slightly before gluing them into the cockpit, so that they do not hang as though cut out of sheet.
The set is an accessory for a kit. Paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
