1:48 Supermarine Spitfire Mk.XII SPACE is a set of Eduard 3D decals for the interior of a model. It is an accessory for a kit, not the model itself.

The set of the SPACE line from the Czech manufacturer Eduard serves for a detailed rendering of the cockpit of a Spitfire Mk.XII model in 1:48 scale. The decals carry relief, so the instrument panel and the side panels look plastic and the laborious painting of the smallest features with a brush is avoided. It differs from Eduard photo-etched sets in material and in the way it is applied: nothing is folded and nothing is glued with super glue. The package is an accessory; the plastic kit is not part of it.
The Spitfire Mk.XII was the first production version of the Spitfire with a Rolls-Royce Griffon engine. It was optimized for combat at low altitudes, which the clipped wingtips on most machines matched. It was used against low-attacking German machines over the English Channel and against V-1 missiles. Against the versions with a Merlin engine it had a markedly different nose and a different propeller torque, which showed in the piloting technique on takeoff as well.
The base for the decal has to be smooth, varnished and perfectly dry - the texture of the paint or dust will show through under the relief. Proceed according to the instructions enclosed with the set; the application of three-dimensional decals differs from that of ordinary wet decals. Do not use a decal softener or setting solution at all, not even diluted - they would damage the printed layer and the relief. Use smooth-jawed tweezers and place the parts precisely at the first attempt. Finish the interior before you glue the fuselage halves together.
The set is an accessory for a kit, not a model on its own. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
