This is a set of self-adhesive masks from the Czech manufacturer Eduard in 1:48 scale. The masks are cut from fine kabuki film (yellow crepe tape) and shaped to fit models of the two-seat Spitfire Tr.9 trainer. It is not a kit but an accessory that makes spraying the glazing and the wheels cleanly much easier.
The mask covers the canopy frames and the faces of the wheels, so that spraying leaves sharp, even transitions with no brushwork by hand and no paint bleeding. The pre-shaped pieces sit into the engraved lines of the frames, which saves time compared with cutting them out of tape by hand.
Degrease the clear parts before applying and let them dry. Carry the masks with fine-pointed tweezers, press them carefully against the edges of the frames and spray in thin coats so that paint cannot creep under the edge. Lift the mask off shortly after the paint has dried, ideally at a shallow angle.
The set contains masks only. The paints, the glue and the model itself are not included in the package.
