Photo-etched Swordfish Mk.II STEEL belts 1:48

This is a detail photo-etched set, not a model. It contains the pilot's seat belts in thin etched sheet in the STEEL version, that is with the color print laid directly onto the metal. The belts are intended for a model of the Swordfish Mk.II biplane in 1:48 scale and replace the flat plastic parts with a faithful, thin substitute.

What the set is for

Color photo-etched belts give the seat in the cockpit a depth and realism that plastic cannot reach. Compared with brass, the STEEL version is a springier, naturally draping material, so the belts are easy to shape over the edge of the seat.

Usage tips

  • Cut the parts off the fret with a sharp knife; do not snap them off.
  • Glue them with super glue or a small drop of epoxy.
  • Bend the belts in smooth curves so that they read as draping fabric.

FAQ

No. It is a photo-etched detail set with seat belts for the cockpit. The model itself is not included.

The belts are etched from steel with the color print laid directly onto the metal. The material is springy and shapes well.

Super glue works best, or a small drop of epoxy, because ordinary plastic cement will not hold on metal.
