This Art Scale masking set is intended for a model of the two-seat T-33A jet aircraft in 1:48 scale. The tandem cockpit with its long glazing is one of the most laborious spots of the whole build, and that is exactly where the set saves the most time: the masks are cut to the shape of the clear parts of the kit of that type, so they are simply seated and pressed down. The model is sold separately.
The double-sided version: the set deals with the framing from the outer and the inner side. On a long canopy, under which the whole interior of both seats is visible, that shows in the result.
The Lockheed T-33 Shooting Star is a two-seat jet trainer derived from the single-seat P-80 fighter. It came about by lengthening the fuselage and adding a second seat in tandem, which called for the characteristic elongated cockpit canopy. The type became one of the most widespread jet trainers and, as the T-33A, served in many countries for decades, often in auxiliary and liaison roles as well.
Wash the clear part in water with detergent and let it dry. Carry the masks with tweezers and apply them step by step; on such a long canopy it is better to work frame by frame than to lay a whole strip at once. Press from the center toward the edges so that no air is left under the mask. Where the outline is more complicated, trim it with a scalpel. Spray in thin coats and lift the masks shortly after the paint has dried, with tweezers and an angled pull across the edge.
It is an accessory, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
