TA-4J Skyhawk 1:48, double-sided cockpit masks deal with the frames of the tandem glazing from the face and the reverse, so that they stand out even with the canopies open.

Masks for the glazing frames of the Skyhawk trainer in 1:48 scale, in the form for the inner and the outer side of the clear parts.
To fit a second pilot into an attack machine, the airframe had to grow. An inserted fuselage section moved the rear cockpit behind the original seat and the whole forward part was lengthened as a result. The outcome was an aircraft that kept the flying qualities of the single-seat machine but gave the instructor full control. In training squadrons these machines carried conspicuous colored panels on the fin and at the wing tips so that they would be easy to see in the air, and that is exactly what makes them a rewarding subject for a modeler.
A Skyhawk trainer is almost always built with the glazing sections slid back, because open cockpits show both seats and the instrument panels. That, though, brings the reverse of the clear parts into the foreground. Left untreated it stays transparent and the frame on it disappears, which gives away that the paint lies only on the outside. A double-sided set lets the reverse be painted in the interior shade and the face in the top scheme, so the frame looks solid from every angle.
