This is not an airplane kit but an interior set. The basis is 3D printed and already colored decals that are applied onto the plastic parts of the cockpit and give the instrument panel and the consoles relief and color. This release is the fuller version: according to the name the set additionally holds 3D printed resin parts that back the decals up with real three-dimensional bulk. The manufacturer also makes a smaller version for the same type, supplied on decal paper alone; if you are after maximum detail, take this one.
The Panavia Tornado is a two-seat combat aircraft with a variable-geometry wing that came out of a joint program by Great Britain, Germany and Italy. The British GR.4 version is an upgrade of the older GR.1 strike aircraft: it received new avionics, different displays in the cockpit and the ability to carry more modern precision munitions. The GR.4 cockpit therefore differs from the GR.1, and interior sets are not interchangeable between the two versions.
Before gluing, wash the resin parts in soapy water to remove any uncured print resin, and cut the remains of the supports away with a thin saw. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue; cement for polystyrene will not bond them to the plastic. Paint the areas under the decals a dark base color and polish them with a gloss coat (Future, Klear, Tamiya X-22): Quinta elements have no adhesive layer of their own and hold on the gloss, so a matte surface is a mistake. Dip the cut-out part in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds, slide it off the paper into place and move it with a soft brush; on uneven areas a drop of cyanoacrylate glue helps. Do not use a decal softener or a decal setting solution, as their chemistry attacks the printed resin and destroys the part. Unify the surface with a matte coat at the end.
