This resin detail set brings finely cast exhaust pipes for a model of the Soviet Tupolev Tu-2 bomber in 1:48 scale. It is not a stand-alone airplane model but an accessory that replaces the exhausts from the base kit and raises the fidelity of the engine nacelles. The castings have open outlets and a fine surface.
The Tupolev Tu-2 was a Soviet twin-engine frontline bomber of the Second World War. It stood out for its good performance, considerable range and a decent bomb load, and it was one of the successful bombing machines of its day. It was powered by a pair of radial engines.
Wash the mold release residue off the parts, carefully separate them from the casting blocks and bond them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. The exhausts come alive once they are painted in metallic shades and the traces of wear are lightly picked out.
This is an add-on set, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
