The U-2R is the enlarged version of the American U-2 high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft, a machine with a long slender wing and the nickname Dragon Lady. Its cockpit is fairly small, which makes it all the more visible on a model how precisely the framed windows have been masked.
The TFace designation is used for sets that contain templates for both sides of the glazing. The outer side is masked for the camouflage color of the fuselage, the inner side for the interior color the frames are painted with from within. The result shows above all on models with an open cockpit, where the frame would otherwise stay transparent from the inside.
Stick the inner templates on and spray them with the interior color before you seat the glazing on the model. The outer side comes up when the fuselage is painted. The surface has to be clean and degreased each time, the mask pressed down with a stick all the way round, and the paint sprayed in thin coats.
The set suits modelers who want the glazing frames to look good from both sides and do not want to cut them out of masking tape. Unless stated otherwise, the model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery.
