Eduard photo-etched seat belts UH-1D (STEEL) - 1:48

This is not a model of the helicopter but a set of pre-colored photo-etched steel harness (seat) belts for the cockpit from Eduard. The set is meant for models of the UH-1D helicopter (the Huey) in 1:48 scale, typically for the belts of the pilots' seats and of the crew. The belts are in thin photo-etched steel sheet and already come in color, so the laborious painting of tiny straps and buckles falls away.

Use

• Separate the belts gently from the photo-etched fret and bend them as needed - steel holds the shape it is given, so they can be hung realistically over the seats and laid into the cabin.
• They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate) in a small amount; cement for plastic does not hold on metal.
• Pre-colored belts need only be tuned, perhaps with a light wash to bring out the edges.
• Suitable as a more true-to-life replacement for plastic or decal belts in the cockpit and the cargo area.

Who they are for

For modelers who build the UH-1D in 1:48 scale and want to raise the detail of the interior quickly and without painting. The steel version hangs naturally and looks like real fabric, unlike a flat sticker. Working with small photo-etched parts calls for tweezers and patience.

This is an accessory for the cockpit, not a model of its own. The model of the helicopter, glue and paints are not included in the package.
