Hauler photo-etched parts for the American M8 self-propelled howitzer in 1:48 scale refine the engine grilles, the rear turret basket and the tool mounts. Target kit: Tamiya.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of photo-etched parts from the Czech maker Hauler intended for detailing a model of the American M8 self-propelled howitzer in 1:48 scale. It is not a standalone kit and not a finished model but an accessory that replaces simplified plastic parts with finer metal photo-etch and moves the overall fidelity of the build up a level. The set is intended for the Tamiya kit.
The fret brings fine engine grilles (the cooling gills on the engine deck), the open basket at the rear of the turret and a set of straps and mounts for stowing tools. Thin metal reads more convincingly in scale than thicker injection-molded plastic, and open grilles create a real view into the interior.
Separate the parts carefully from the fret with a sharp scalpel, make the bends in a photo-etch bending tool according to the enclosed drawing and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Degrease the metal before painting and apply a primer for good adhesion.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
