1:48 V-22 Osprey Hydraulics and sensors is a Black Dog set that works up the hydraulics and the sensors of the Osprey tiltrotor in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
Among aviation subjects the Osprey is a case of its own: the rotors and their tilting gear called for extensive hydraulics and a fair number of sensors. This item works up exactly that part of the machine and is fitted into a model under construction in 1:48 scale. The manufacturer is Black Dog.
The Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey joins two abilities that usually contradict each other: it takes off and lands vertically like a helicopter, but once the nacelles are tilted it flies like a turboprop airplane. The wing can be turned along the fuselage for stowage aboard a ship and the rotor blades folded. On a model this mechanism is a very rewarding subject, because it lets you show a quantity of lines and linkages.
The most sensitive point is the position of the nacelles: decide on it before you glue anything in, because it affects what will be visible. Fit the lines from the bottom upward and keep checking whether the shell still closes. Set the metal surfaces apart from the rest in color with a dark shade and pick out the edges only at the end, so that they do not get lost in the depths.
The Osprey model and the materials for finishing it are sold separately.
