This is a small accessory for figures, not a kit and not a whole figure either. The set brings the light tropical helmet of Vietnamese units in 1:48 scale, which you set on an altered figure's head, use with a vehicle crew or lay down as equipment set aside in a diorama. The manufacturer makes the same subject in other scales as well.
The light cloth-covered tropical helmet is among the most characteristic items of equipment of Vietnamese units of the Vietnam War period. It was not a steel combat helmet but light headgear protecting mainly against sun and rain, so the shape is rounder and smoother than on European steel helmets. On a figure in a small scale it is exactly that shape which is the main mark of recognition, thanks to which a scene fits the right period at once.
Wash the casting in lukewarm water with detergent, separate it from the casting block with a fine saw and level the mark with a file; do the sanding wet and with respiratory protection. Use cyanoacrylate glue to glue it. After a thin primer apply the base shade, break the smooth surface of the cover up lightly with a drybrush and pick out the brim with a fine wash. If the casting carries a badge on the front, pull it out right at the end with a fine brush, so that it is not lost under the paint.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without a figure. Paints, glue and other parts are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
